Sports Medicine
Dr Paul Bloomfield is a Sports Physician. After graduating from the University of New South Wales in 1992 he completed post graduate training in sports medicine with the Australasian College of Sports Physicians (A.C.S.P.) and was awarded his Fellowship in 2000. Dr Bloomfield has been consulting at Sydney Physiotherapy and Orthopaedics in the city since October 2005.
Dr Bloomfield has extensive experience with various sports and has been involved with numerous elite and professional teams. He is the current team doctor for the Manly Sea Eagles NRL rugby league team and was the team doctor for the Northern Spirit NSL soccer club throughout its entire history. He has also worked extensively with the Australian Men's Volleyball Team and was the assistant medical officer for the St. George rugby league team prior to joining Manly. Other sport coverage has included numerous Brooks Triathlon series at Kurnell, mountain bike and skateboard competitions and the Soccer Australia senior men's team.
Patients from all levels of sporting participation, from the sedentary to recreational and elite athletes, are welcome to make appointments for consultation in all aspects of sports medicine. Dr Bloomfield consults on all musculoskeletal injuries both acute and chronic as well as medical conditions relating to exercise. A special interest in all lower limb injuries (including knee, ankle and foot) as well as orthotics is maintained, however all upper limb, spinal and lower limb injuries and chronic conditions are welcomed for assessment and management.
