Jerome
Murphy
Jerome graduated in Bradford, England in 1986 and has resided and worked
in Australia since 1987. He has a special interest in sports rehabilitation
and has post graduate qualifications in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy.
Jerome also provides orthotic prescription. He has worked as a physiotherapist
for rugby teams both locally and internationally including all Rugby World
Cups. In 2005 Jerome was the honarary physiotherapist to the NSW Subdistricts
team and also to the NSW under 85 kg team at the World Championship in
Thailand.
Derek
Mansfield
Derek has been a physiotherapist since 1995 and has worked in Australia,
the USA and the UK. In November 2006 he completed the Level 3 Sports
Course at the AIS in Canberra. Derek has had a long association with
the sport of Volleyball at State and National levels and has been the
physio for Australian Men's Senior and Junior teams on tours to Europe,
Japan, the USA, Thailand and Qatar.
Dan
Kelly
Dan is a physiotherapist with particular interests in spinal pain and
sports related injuries. He has completed his Level 2 Sports Physiotherapy
training and has a keen focus not only on reducing pain, but addressing
underlying biomechanical issues to ensure a complete return to optimal
physical performance. Dan practices the McKenzie approach to the treatment
of spinal pain. He focuses heavily on exercise based self-management once
outside the clinical setting, giving patients the ability to adopt a proactive
approach to their rehabilitation. Dan currently plays for the Sydney University
Rugby Union Football Club.
Tara
Lal
Tara has a degree in Physiotherapy as well as an honors degree in
Physiology. She is experienced in the treatment and rehabilitation
of sports injuries
having worked as the on field physiotherapist for Rugby Union teams
for 6 years. In addition she has worked for the WA Softball team at the
national
championships. Tara also has a particular interest in the treatment
and rehabilitation of chronic back and neck pain using postural analysis,
core stability and specific exercise as part of a holistic approach
to
rehabilitation. She has several years experience teaching exercise
classes for clients with chronic spinal pain. Tara is also a fitness
trainer
and competes nationally in surf boat rowing. She currently works part
time for Sydney Physiotherapy.
Xanthe
McLean
Xanthe McLean started practicing physiotherapy in 2004, after graduating from
The University of Sydney. She spent two years working in Newcastle in the public
hospital system, then did some travelling overseas before joining Sydney Physiotherapy.
Xanthe is a strong believer in exercise-based rehabilitation combined with manual
therapy techniques to achieve positive outcomes. She enjoys treating a variety
of different sporting injuries as well as the more common neck and low back strains,
and has a growing interest in the effective management of lumbar spine and pelvic
dysfunction. Xanthe recently completed her Level 1 Sports Physiotherapy training.
In her spare time Xanthe enjoys swimming, running, netball, dancing and watching
rugby union.
Justine McCarthy
Justine has dual degrees in Physiotherapy and Radiography and has worked
in several clinics catering to an elite sporting population. She has
a special interest in lower limb injuries and orthopaedic rehabilitation.
As a registered fitness leader, Justine is a strong advocate of exercise
therapy and education to self-empower patients in their recovery. From
her background in swimming, Justine is well experienced in segmental
alignment and implements this with her patients to achieve an optimal
function outcome. Justine has had extensive experience as touring physiotherapist
both domestically and internationally in Rugby Union, Soccer and Basketball.
