Back and Neck Pain
Sydney Physiotherapy can assess and provide safe, effective treatment for back and neck pain.

Physiotherapy services may include the provision of the following elements as appropriate to each patient:
• assessment of posture and movement
• ergonomic assessment and correction
• joint mobilisation
• orthopaedic manipulative therapy
• McKenzie method
• soft tissue mobilisation (massage)
• stretching
• biofeedback training of abdominals
• core stability exercises or 'body control'
• Swiss ball exercises
• postural taping
• electrophysical treatments such as heat, ice and ultrasound.

Sports Injuries
The team at Sydney Physiotherapy are experienced at assessing, treating and returning to sport, athletes, from elite to recreational level.

Physiotherapy services may include the provision of the following elements as appropriate to each athlete:
• biomechanical assessment
• running analysis
• strengthening
• biofeedback training
• plyometric exercises
• proprioceptive and balance exercises
• core stability exercises or 'body control'
• Swiss ball exercises
• technique correction
• graduated and progressive return to sport
• cardiovascular conditioning
• joint manipulation or mobilisation
• soft tissue mobilisation (massage)
• stretching
• semi rigid orthotic prescription
• sports strapping and bracing
• electrophysical modalities (electrotherapy ) for acute inflammation such as intermittent compression, ultrasound and ice.

Orthopaedic Rehabilitation
The physiotherapists at Sydney Physiotherapy are experienced in providing rehabilitation to regain normal function after injury or orthopaedic surgery.

Strengthening and stretching exercises are supervised in the clinic and prescribed in home programmes.

Sydney Physiotherapy has a well-equipped rehabilitation gymnasium area. Patients may bring along their own clothing to change into for exercise, or shorts and a t-shirt can also be provided.

Gait Analysis
Sydney Physiotherapy offers the injured runner comprehensive gait analysis using a low impact treadmill and digital video camera.

Running injuries can be reproduced and analysed in a clinical setting. The digital video provides high definition slow motion and still images. The physiotherapist can analyse the movement and show the patient how problems such as knee pain or 'shin splints' occur.

Foot orthotics may be prescribed in the management of some conditions. The orthotics can be moulded by our physiotherapists, or referal to a podiatrist can be arranged if greater correction is required.

Occupational Health
The team at Sydney Physiotherapy can provide physiotherapy for work-related injuries. Occupational rehabilitation is aimed at maintaining the injured worker in, or returning them to suitable employment. Rehabilitation management will include effective communication with the workplace, other health professionals and the insurer.

Sydney Physiotherapy can provide the following occupational physiotherapy services:
• ergonomic design assessment
• hazard and risk assessment
• controlling hazards and risks using the hierarchy of controls
• occupational rehabilitation
• assessment for return to work
Professional fees for patients with a workers’ compensation claim may be billed directly to the insurer.
