Shoulder injuries are common affecting approximately 30% of the general population. These injuries can be related to overuse for example swimming, throwing, computer work or overhead repetitive activities. Often these injuries can be resolved with rotator cuff and shoulder blade strengthening programs to help prevent the need for injections or surgery.

Here at Sydney Physiotherapy, we have a comprehensive understanding of what is required to return to your activity whether it be swimming or throwing to get you back to your best.

Other times, there is a sudden onset after a fall or tackle on the sports field resulting sometimes in dislocation or slipping of the shoulder joint (subluxation). At times surgical intervention is required followed by a comprehensive co-ordination and strength training program to prevent ongoing instability and return to sport/activity.
